Frequently Asked Questions

Here is a collection of some of the questions we get asked most often.  We want to make sure you have the best experience possible when you attend a workshop or purchase a ToGo project, so if you have question that isn't answered here make sure to reach out via the contact info at the bottom of the page. 

*What design choices do I need to make before I come to a workshop?

Nothing!  You get to choose all stain and paint colors while you are in the studio!  You will just choose your project before registering, and customize it while you work.


*Can I bring a guest or child with me to my workshop?

Due to limited space in the studio we typically only allow guests with a paid registration to attend workshops.  We do allow add-on child projects when space allows.  If you would like to add on a child's seat or have someone who would like to attend without a registration please email us at to get prior approval.


*What time should I arrive?

The doors will open 15 minutes prior to your workshop start time. It is important to arrive with enough time to get settled in so the workshop can begin promptly at your start time.  We often have workshops scheduled back to back so in order to stay on schedule we aren't able to wait for guests arriving late.

*How long does the workshop last?

The workshops last about 3 hours.  We will begin promptly at the start time and depending on the class size and individual projects some may finish before the 3 hour time frame.


*Do I need to be artistic?

No!  There is no prior experience necessary!  Our instructors are there to assist you from start to finish.

*Can I bring my own drinks?

Yes!  We are a BYOB studio so feel free to bring any alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages you'd like to enjoy while you create.  We have a variety of bar glasses that are available to use as well.


*Can I personalize my project?

Most of our projects can be personalized.  If your chosen project includes personalized names and dates you can let us know what you'd like during registration.  If you would like to personalize any of our other projects please email for prior approval. 


*Can I make a custom design?

Yes, we are able to do many custom designs.  Sometimes a small custom design fee may apply, and this option is subject to time availability.  Email if you have questions about a custom design. 


*Do you offer To Go projects?

We sure do!  If you would like to create a Bristle & Timber project from the comfort of your own home you can order one of our ToGo kits.  You get a pre-sanded and stained board, stencil and paint colors of your choice, and supplies to finish your project at home.  Visit our ToGo page to place your order!


*What if I have to cancel a workshop I already booked?

If you are unable to make it to your scheduled workshop we can reschedule you into another workshop, or make arrangements for you to take your project as a ToGo kit.  Contact us as soon as you know you cant make it. Email

*Do you do kids parties?

Yes we do!  Check out our party page here for details.  Email for any questions!


*Do you do private parties?

Yes we do! We have great options for birthday parties, showers, bachelorette parties, office parties or just getting together with friends!  Check out our party page here for details.  Email for any questions!


*Do You do offsite events?

We are able to do select remote events based on availability.  Email and we can discuss your event details.


*Do you do at home private parties?

*Can I walk in anytime and paint?

Our studio is only open for painting during scheduled workshops or our scheduled walk-in events.  Make sure to follow us on social media and check out our events calendar to stay up to date!


*What hours are you open?

*Do you have gift cards?

Yes we do! We offer physical gift cards in the store, and we also offer convenient e-cards right on our website.  Click HERE to purchase an e-card.


*What is a Walk-In event?

Our Walk-In events are a great way to make a fun project with no reservation is required.  You will just show up on the scheduled date and choose your pre-sanded/stained board, stencil design and finish your project here in the studio!  If you have never been to our studio these are great events to stop in and check us out.  Fun for the whole family, too!


*Do you only do wood projects?

No!  We offer a variety of specialty workshops, too!  Throughout the year we do fun specialty workshops with tie dye, pillows, rugs, ceramics and more!  Check out our upcoming calendar for a full list of specialty workshops.
